Government Relations – Advocating for Farmers

Throughout 2023, CFO Board Directors, District Committee Representatives, and the CFO staff team continued to further strengthen relationships with the Government of Canada and the Ontario Government, with an emphasis on providing education to law makers and advancing key initiatives to support farmers now, and for future generations.

In addition to CFO and Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) led activities, including CFC Lobby Days, CFO Cares Events, and CFO Chicken Day at Queen’s Park, CFO participated in 10 government consultations, 47 engagements with elected officials at all three levels of government, and met with Minister Lisa Thompson 9 times and Premier Doug Ford 3 times.
